Offshore Day is a global moment of recognition for the people who make the offshore industry possible.
The first edition was celebrated on September 20th, 2023, founded by Priscilla Zwiers and Sylvie Vugts from our Jack-Up Barge onshore team. Since then, it has become a yearly tradition, honouring the dedication and resilience of our offshore professionals worldwide at first.
The offshore sector never stops — from energy production to maritime operations, it depends on the expertise of thousands of professionals at sea and onshore. Offshore Day was created to celebrate them and all offshore staff on this special day.
Every year on September 20th, Offshore Day highlights the pride, teamwork, and spirit that define life and work offshore. It’s a day to share stories, honour achievements, and shine a light on a community that works tirelessly — often far from home — to keep the world moving.
Offshore Day is more than a celebration — it’s a tribute to the strength of the global offshore community and its vital role in building a safe and sustainable future for our crews, sponsors, and clients.
On September 20th, 2025, Offshore Day returns with a new theme: Travel Around the World.
This year, we celebrate the truly global nature of offshore life. From the North Sea to distant oceans, offshore professionals work across borders, time zones, and cultures — connected by a shared spirit of resilience, teamwork, and pride.
The theme ‘Travel Around the World’ highlights not only the physical journeys offshore crews make, but also the cultural connections and friendships built along the way. Offshore life means being far from home, yet part of a worldwide community that speaks the same language of dedication and perseverance.
In 2025, Offshore Day will shine a light on those journeys — the stories of people who travel oceans to power our world, support our industries, and help build a sustainable energy future.
This year, Offshore Day is all about you — wherever in the world offshore life takes you.
On 20 September 2024, we celebrated Offshore Day with a tribute to our Dutch roots.
From the shipyards and ports to the North Sea itself, this year’s theme — Dutch — highlighted the spirit that defines our industry: craftsmanship , practicality, teamwork, and innovation.
We shared stories from crews at sea and teams onshore, showcased smart Dutch solutions in offshore wind, oil & gas, heavy lift, and subsea, and spotlighted the no-nonsense mindset that keeps people safe and projects moving. It was a day to recognise the working culture we’re proud of: collaborative, inventive, and grounded.

Thank you to everyone who contributed stories, photos, and energy to Offshore Day 2024. The Dutch spirit keeps us strong — at home and across the world’s oceans.
The very first Offshore Day was celebrated on September 20th, 2023, with the theme Sustainability & Community. It marked the beginning of a tradition — not just as an event, but as a call to action and a celebration of the offshore spirit.
Stories, best practices, and innovations were shared to show how offshore operations can become more energy-efficient, reduce emissions, and minimize ecological impact. From greener materials to smarter power usage and better waste management, sustainability was brought to life through the daily work of offshore professionals.
At the same time, Offshore Day 2023 strengthened community ties. Crews, partners, and stakeholders came together to honour shared values of safety, respect, and stewardship of the seas.
The success of this first edition, with its inspiring stories and wide participation, proved that sustainability is more than a concept: it is a lived value within the offshore industry. Offshore Day 2023 set the standard for future editions, celebrating people while also committing to better practices for our planet and generations to come.
