JB-104 partner in London gateway project
The London Gateway project is located on the River Thames, at the former Shell Haven installation about 25 miles downstream the City of London. London Gateway is a mayor new deep-water port which will be able to handle the biggest container ships in the world. In addition to the new port the development will include one of Europe's largest logistics parks, providing access to London, the South East and the rest of the UK. The development will dramatically increase the capabilities of the Port of London in handling modern container shipping. In the future London Gateway will include a 2,700 metre long container quay, with fully developed capacity of 3.5 milion TEU a year. The JB-104 is under contract with Laing O'Rourke Infrastructure limited and fully operated by their own marine crew. The barge is doing piling for a new jetty structure in the first stage of this major project. Besides the barge Jack-Up Barge provided hydraulically movable outrigger frames and power pack which makes the accomplishing of the piling job much easier and more efficient.
