JB-114 en JB-115 operate offshore in windmill park

The wind farm consists of 55 wind turbines and JB-114 ws operated by Van Oord for the installation of the transition pieces. The JB-114 is operated out of Zeebrugge and by the end of March 2010 the unit will be utilised by Vestas for the erection of the tower sections, installation of turbines and rotor blades. Charter completion is currently scheduled third quarter 2010.

The JB-115 chartered by DOTI successfully completed the preparatory works for the six 5MW Repower turbines foundations on Alpha Ventus. There after the unit was chartered by Bard Engineering and mobilised in Eemshaven for the installation of the BARD 1 platform. Unfortunately due to the late arrival of the platform from Belfast all installation works have been postponed until April 2010, and the JB-115 is once more chartered to assist with BARD 1 platform installation. It is anticipated that she will be used during the remaining charter period to assist with other BARD wind farm installation works. In the meantime the JB-115 was again chartered by Prokon Nord for the replacement of a 5 MW Multibrid turbine on Alpha Ventus.

In August this year the JB-115 will be mobilised to Melbourne Australia where she will commence a one year charter for the Thiess Group who have been awarded a contract for the installation of Australians largest desalination plant. The unit will be utilised for the offshore installation of marine intake and discharge structures up to 2 km out to sea.
